This coffee is from Sembradores de Vida, a group whose name translates to “Sowers of Life”. This group is part of a project that focuses on rehabilitation, similar to the work they do at Redemption Roasters. This relationship has been ongoing for five years, which allows them to look at unique varietal types, such as this washed Pink Bourbon micro lot, produced on the farm of the group's representative, Rubén Ortega.

Pink Bourbon is a variety first discovered in the 1980's near Acevedo, southern Huila. It was praised for its resistance to leaf rust and high cup quality. In 2017 it was discovered not to be a hybrid of Red and Yellow Bourbon like originally thought, but instead an Ethiopian Landrace variety.
