Sourcing + Price Transparency //
This is the second year we have purchased coffee from the Boza sisters, partnering with Algrano, an online platform that connects growers and roasters, to bring the coffee to the UK. Using a platform like Algrano means that the Boza’s are able to access a wider market, including other roasters in the UK and Europe, which can only be a good thing!
The price we pay to the Boza family is £3.24 per kilo. This is the actual price they receive for their coffee. This is called the Farm Gate Price. It does not include any costs associated with importing, financing, warehousing, etc. We pay Algrano a fee of .77p per kilo for these services.
Karla Boza, the youngest of the 3 sisters, is one of the recipients of the 2019-2021 Leadership Equity and Diversity (LEAD) Scholarship Program. LEAD is aimed at increasing diversity of leadership within the global coffee community by enabling access to professional development resources to people from underrepresented or marginalised communities. We are super proud of Karla and the amazing leader she is becoming within the coffee industry!
